Good Visit! A Recent Letter to our tourism director...

Hi Ann,

....I really enjoyed our long talk, clearly we have much in common, starting with our love of Kentucky and our home communities.

I was so impressed with Glasgow and Barren County and all the people I met. Your South Central Kentucky Cultural Center's museum is one of the best museums I have ever seen. I meant to stay only a few minutes but wound up browsing among the exhibits for two hours. The exhibits tell an amazing story that offers amateur historians such as myself truly fresh perspective on the human history of Kentucky and, indeed, of North America. The quality of each exhibit made every display ring with authority and authenticity.

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and morning at Barren River State Park. It was so quiet and restful. The materials about your region that you gave me have already been useful to me in enlarging my sense of "the Barrens" area. It is clear that the area residents have great pride in their place, and that the creative leadership of your region operates at a high level of professionalism and sophistication, mixed with a genuine spirit of neighborly friendliness.

I know, Ann, that you have for a long time been a key person in your area's development. Thanks for taking time to have a true conversation Friday morning.
